Accepting a Life Changers Award
By Prem Goyal
Life Changers Foundation fêted contributors to community development on Friday 1st November at the annual Life Changers Awards held in Bexleyheath. Over 200 guests joined the action, including Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Councillors, entrepreneurs and community champions.
I was also called on to make a 10 minute speech, which I used to discuss the importance of writing our own stories, unity and mutual recognition. You can read the full speech here.
The speech received a very warm reception and several people approach me afterwards to swap business cards.
Later I was presented with the ‘Special Recognition Award’ for supporting communities in London.
Sheri Adegbesan organised the evening spectacularly. Everyone enjoyed the African and Caribbean food, entertainment and fashion show. The balloon dog competition was a particular standout moment as it had the whole room engaged and cheering.
