Giving a speech to Young Stars at the PPA Awards
I made my way to the Walworth Road on Wednesday night for the 4th edition of the Positive Profile Awards. Youth group 2InSpire of the Aylesbury Estate organised the ceremony that was viewed by around 150 people.
I was the keynote speaker. After congratulating all the nominees on their achievements, I talked them through my tips on how to achieve your potential by acquiring education and skills, investing time wisely and building a global profile.
Awards were given in 10 categories. I presented the ones for academic performance, overcoming adversity, partnership working, social enterprise and visual arts. It was great to see how happy and proud the winners and their families were.
Claire Davis, the project coordinator, and her team did a great job.
My speech seemed to go down well with some even emailing me feedback. Anayo Amadi-Ali said: “You gave an amazing and inspiring speech. I must admit that I enjoyed every bit of it and also learnt some valuable lessons”. I’m glad people got something from it!
