Congratulating CSTM on successful 2016
Prem Goyal, Trustee of The Connection at St Martin-in-the-Fields (CSTM), attended the charity’s last trustee meeting of 2016 on 6 December, where he was informed of the outstanding progress they have been making against their ambitious objectives.
CSTM have achieved some fantastic statistics this year in their many initiatives, the most impressive of which were accommodating 744 rough sleeps in their emergency night centre before referring them to longer term accommodation providers and the outreach team engaging with an average of 20 rough sleepers every night per shift.
The charity also unveiled their objectives for 2016-17 at the meeting, including adapting their services to respond to the growing number of rough sleepers on London’s streets and helping more clients gain access to the private rented sector.
Reflecting on 2016’s last meeting, Prem said: “I am sure all of my fellow Trustees will join me in congratulating CSTM on yet another successful year in helping provide essential services to homeless people in their hour of need, especially in light of the growing number of rough sleepers on London’s streets”.
Prem also pledged to continue providing advice to CSTM throughout 2017 and to work with the City of London Corporation to suggest and enact solutions to the capital’s growing homelessness endemic.
After the meeting, the trustees and executive team members present paid homage to the services of Dame Diana Brittan, Chair of the Board of Trustees, who retired from her position following the meeting.
As Chair, Dame Brittan has overseen a period of continued growth and relevance for CSTM and has been instrumental in ensuring that the charity remains on target to meet its objectives. The trustees held a special thank dinner for her after the meeting.
Thank you Dame Brittan for her services to CSTM.
