Young volunteers inspire Jamaican islanders

Two young women who volunteered for Springs of Hope UK in Jamaica from June to September 2016 were given the opportunity to recount the amazing project work they completed on a popular radio show listened to throughout the island.

Tamara and Maryam, both from the UK, talked at length about what they achieved in their volunteer placement, their motivation for volunteering in Jamaica and more about the work Springs of Hope and the Daneford Trust, a partner organisation, are doing in the country.

The radio talk show was hosted by esteemed academic Dr Clinton Hutton Ph.D, Lecturer in political philosophy and culture from the University of the West Indies.

Dulcie Hutchinson, Director of Springs of Hope UK, said: “The interview that Tamara and Maryam gave was very interesting and inspiring and was heard by many people throughout the island. Truly wonderful!”

Prem Goyal, Patron of Springs of Hope UK, said: “I am extremely proud of Tamara and Maryam for the wonderful work they accomplished in Jamaica. Their interview should without a doubt inspire others to follow in their footsteps.”
